Yoda data manager tasks

As a data manager in the role of Yoda, you hold a crucial responsibility to ensure that research data is handled correctly.

Checklist Yoda

The purpose of the following external checklist is to assist data managers who are working with Yoda. Their primary responsibility is to evaluate requests for archiving or publishing data through Yoda, and ensure that the data meets the necessary storage requirements, including adherence to FAIR principles. To do this, data managers are required to assess various factors such as metadata completeness, appropriate folder organization, adherence to naming conventions, and use of preferred file formats.

Some of the tasks performed by a data manager include (but are not restricted to):

Administering and overseeing the permissions to access Yoda.

As a Yoda data manager, you will have the ability to establish new research groups as needed, grant individuals access to these groups, and assign their respective roles. It is important to note that, in Yoda, a research group refers to a parent folder that is designated for a particular project or research, and multiple research groups (i.e., parent folders) can be employed for the same project or research. It is crucial to distinguish between a research group in Yoda and a general research group that may exist within a university department or chair group; in Yoda, a research group denotes a parent folder that is allocated to specific Yoda users who are engaged in research data. The number of research groups that can be created is unlimited. When managing Yoda access, it is recommended to designate at least two people as group managers within the research group, with at least one of them being the data manager. To create a new research group, navigate to your Yoda environment and select "Group Manager" from the black bar. Then, in the "Group Manager" section, click on "Add group".
