Background information on Linux in HPC
Background information on Linux in HPC
Here, you will find some basic information on Linux. Just like probably all other HPC systems, ALICE and SHARK both run Linux as their operating system.
If you are new or unfamiliar to use a command prompt the carpentries have a good introduction to use the shell: Introduction to Using the Shell in a High-Performance Computing Context or The Unix Shell
We only intend to provide a brief introduction and overview. For more extensive background information we recommend to look on the internet or for a course on Linux at your organization.
This section is still in development and content will be added step-by-step.
