Caveats

The HF cache is not uncommon to grow to 3-12GB and can fill up your quota on your homedirectory on ALICE (2025). Therefore it is recommended to relocate these to your data1 folder.

The default locations of HF can be changed with environment  variables:

You can change the shell environment variables shown below - in order of priority - to specify a different cache directory:

1. Shell environment variable (default): HUGGINGFACE_HUB_CACHE or TRANSFORMERS_CACHE.

2. Shell environment variable: HF_HOME.

3. Shell environment variable: XDG_CACHE_HOME + /huggingface.

Be carefull when cleaning the cache with the HF access token. The location of the token can be changed with the HF_TOKEN_PATH variable.
