Will you restrict access to the published data?

Access restrictions enable publishing study metadata while requiring users to contact you for data access, which is necessary for personal data or other conditions that must be met prior to access.

Are you looking for a free repository?

Repository fees often correlate with the dataset size. If your dataset is under 10 GB, it's usually free to publish in most repositories, but check each repository for specific information on possible costs. For instance, DataversNL doesn't charge for datasets under 10 GB, while YODA costs 4 Euro per TB per month, which may be covered by your faculty.

Do you want to choose your own data usage licence?

Different repositories offer varying options for data usage licences. These licences determine the type of reuse allowed and make it clear to others. Some repositories only permit a fully open CCO licence, while others provide a range of choices or allow complete freedom in selecting a licence.
