Known issues with MATLAB via Remote Desktop:

• Black screen using Mobaxterm in compibation with Gnome window manager:
  workaround use xfce4 instead: echo xfce4-session >> ~/.Xclients

• Java issues: increase heap memory: Java Heap Memory Settings - MATLAB & Simulink

• opengl/glx issues. Start matlab with software rendering: matlab -softwareopengl

• GTK workaround. Load GTK3 from our software stack: module load GTK3 MATLAB
  Remove canberra-gtk-module and pk-gtk-module Messages - MATLAB & Simulink
