Data managers that assist and advise researchers that use Yoda in a research project, chair group, research department, or faculty that you are affiliated with, can request data manager rights for Yoda.

If you have data manager rights in a community in Yoda, you can approve requests to archive data packages in the vault and publish data packages. Employees with data manager rights often also have group manager rights. In this case, they can also add users to groups, change their role, and (in some cases) create new communities and/or groups.

Please note that to attain data manager rights, you do not necessarily need to be a data manager, but we do require that the person getting the data manager rights in Yoda has knowledge of and a high affinity with data management. Centre for Digital Scholarship (CDS)offers free workshops on introductions to data management. You can request information on these workshops or request a workshop to be given via CDS. There is also a workshop specifically tuned for data management in Yoda. You can request information on this workshop or request a workshop to be given via yoda@universiteitleiden.nl.

When you have received data manager rights for your community, you will be able to access data of your entire community that you are assigned to, even if you have not yourself been specifically added to a research group (regardless of membership, the Yoda data manager can read all data in the community assigned to him/her).
